Memorial Day is a federal holiday that commemorates the loss of those who died fighting in the armed forces. Every year, it appears at the same time, the last Monday of the month of May which many government facilities and school closed for the holiday.

Interestingly, memorial day was developed from a tradition that was created after the Civil War where friends and families would decorate the graves of those who died. Memorial Day has now evolved and is celebrated with ceremonies and parades.

Having a Memorial Day parade is very common way that we celebrate those who we have lost. Many towns have ceremonies and event taking place on the island. At the parades, those who were lost in previous wars with flags and images, as well as veterans would walk help in the celebration of those who have lost their lives to keep our country safe. Be sure to check out a parade and commemorate those who have fought and died for our country.
