Adorable Adoptables: Sweet Ginger & Friendly Nellie Are Looking for Fur-Ever Homes!

Written by Allison Matos  |  15. May 2015

LI's Adorable Adoptables is a weekly column by Allison Matos, a lifelong Long Island resident who has been advocating animal adoption since 2012. Allison's weekly posts highlight local animals in need of adoption, and cover general animal welfare topics as well.

Dogs and cats are often overlooked in large municipal shelters, but Ginger and Nellie have lady luck on their side now that they have been moved to Last Hope Animal Rescue in Wantagh. These two have been acclimated in a smaller, quieter setting, and they couldn’t be more ready to go home with you today!

Poor Ginger was abandoned at a municipal shelter with no explanation. It’s baffling to the Last Hope volunteers since Ginger is described as the sweetest and most beautiful cat around. Ginger is a long haired Maine Coon mix estimated to be approximately 3 years old.  To meet this gorgeous gal, head down to Last Hope today and check out her webpage.

Did someone order a big mush? Check out Nellie - this gorgeous Bullmastiff is just about 5 years old, and comes to Last Hope from her neighbors, TOH Animal Shelter.  Nellie was adopted but returned when her owners (who kept her outside only) returned her.  Nellie is adorable and sweet and would do best as the sole pooch in a house. For more information about Nellie, check out her website. Better yet, head down to Last Hope to meet her today!

Thanks for reading and please remember to always adopt - never shop!
