E-Bike Rider Seriously Injured in East Patchogue Crash
Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured an E-bike rider in East Patchogue today.
Jorge Bermeo was driving a 2009 Acura southbound on Circle Drive East, near Barton Avenue, when a westbound Letric Ebike Xpress 750 turning onto the road from Barton Avenue struck the vehicle at 5:22 p.m.
The E-bike rider, Joseph Bourque, 57, of East Patchogue, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries. Bermeo, 60, of East Patchogue, was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.
