Saturday's Top 10: Make your Mother's Day Reservations

Written by Debbi Spiegel  |  04. May 2013

On the second Sunday in May, children of all ages treat their mothers to something special. It is the one day out of the year when children, young and old, try to show in a tangible way how much they appreciate their mothers.  Moms work hard all year long caring for their children. They fix meals; help with homework; wash clothes; clean house; heal physical wounds; sooth emotional hurts; teach lessons of life; attend recitals, concerts, and sports games; host parties; act as chauffeurs; and much, much more. One day a year, it's Mom's turn to be pampered.  Mother's Day did not become an official holiday until 1915.

Taking Mom out for Mother's Day lets her enjoy a lovely meal that she doesn't have to shop for, cook or clean up after.  It is a great way to show your appreciation for everything that she does.  Some of these restaurants will honor Mom or Grandma with a flower or glass of champagne. While gifts are certainly appreciated, what mom really wants is for you to take her out for a good time.

Here's a list of some of the best Long Island meals for Mother's Day weekend.
