Fowl Follies - an exhibition showcasing the results of Briarcliffe College's Living Classroom where art students received hands-on instruction from visiting artist Jessica McAvoy - will be on display at the Bethpage campus Art Gallery, 1055 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY, from April 14 to May 27. The exhibit is open to the public free of charge, as is the Wednesday, April 20th Artist Talk & Reception from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., featuring Ms. McAvoy and the Living Classroom students. Briarcliffe's Living Classroom provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to learn firsthand from professional artists about new approaches to their work and careers, said Briarcliffe College President Dr. George Santiago, Jr. Briarcliffe College offers a BFA in Graphic Design and students from both the Bethpage and Patchogue campus locations will spend studio time with Jessica McAvoy to learn about her inspirations and techniques - including her dynamic charcoal drawings and signature use of oil on copper to produce miniature landscapes. An adviser to arts organizations, Ms. McAvoy will also discuss different career paths available to artists. The Briarcliffe College Art Gallery is located at 1055 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage, NY.
