Who: Mary Ann Malack-Ragona, Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer, Alzheimer's Association Long Island What: Mary Ann Malack-Ragona, Executive Director/CEO, Alzheimer's Association Long Island, will be the guest speaker at the Long Island Senior Expo. She will discuss the top 10 warning signs of Alzheimer's disease and the resources available to help individuals afflicted with this disease and their families. There will be a question-and-answer session afterwards. There are 5.4 million people in the U.S. who are afflicted with Alzheimer's. Of that number, 55,000 are from Long Island. With the growing aging population, the number will surely increase. Many family members have taken on caregiving duties, but there is a financial and emotional toll associated with that. Ms. Malack-Ragona will discuss what resources are out there to help families caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's. When: Wednesday, April 13 11:30 a.m. Where: Dave and Buster's 261 Airport Plaza Boulevard Farmingdale, New York Directions: From the Long Island Expressway, go to Exit 49S (Route 110 South/Broad Hollow Road) toward Amityville.
