Dream School

Dream School, on SundanceTV, is looking for teens 16-18 in the Long Island/New York City area who are having trouble getting through high school.

The Dream School class of 2014 will be taught by a team of teachers and celebrity mentors who are leaders in their fields.

The sky might be cloudy today, but thankfully any precipitation those dark clouds might drop won’t come in the form of snow; Long Island will be looking at temperatures mostly around the upper 50s through Passover and into Easter. You shouldn’t let any wet weather we might have dampen your holiday spirits, because there are plenty of fun events to enjoy around the Island this week. From amusement parks and Easter egg hunting to festivals celebrating spring and horseradishes, you’re sure to find all sorts of activities to keep yourself and your family entertained!

Go for a spin on our new Tea Cups ride, or enjoy favorites like the Hurricane Coaster, Frisbee and Merry-Go-Round. Parking and admission are always free; you only pay to enjoy the rides! Adventureland also offers a restaurant, gift shop and arcade! The park will be open April 12-22 for the Easter and Passover holidays.

Easter is Almost Here, and Kids Love This Traditional Celebration!
With Easter almost here, many Long Islanders have already planned brunches they will be enjoying with their families after Easter Sunday Mass. Additionally, there are many events going on that family and kids will enjoy in taking part of. One of the most popular events during Easter is the Easter Egg Hunt. It is said that the Easter Bunny hides the eggs for children to find. This is a fun tradition that many people young and old love to take part in. Some hunts have you find colored eggs or even find eggs filled with candy!

EASTer Egg Hunt at Smithtown High School East
Come on down to the Easter Egg Hunt Fundraiser at Smithtown High School East this Saturday, April 12th to enjoy an egg hunt, breakfast, crafts, games and pictures with the Easter Bunny! Fundraiser will take place from 10 AM-12 Noon. 

1st Annual North Fork Horseradish Festival
The North Fork Horseradish Festival will be taking place at Hallockville Museum Farm on Saturday April 12, 2014 in Riverhead, NY from 11 AM to 5 PM. It will be a celebration of all things horseradish from recipe contests and cooking demonstrations to activities, competitions, and famous bloody Marys! Come down and enjoy a day of spice and flavor.

Birding for Beginners: Spring Migration
Head to the Red House Nature Center at Inlet Pond Park on Saturday, April 12th to enjoy a walk focusing on the field marks and behaviors of birds of the grasslands and shoreline habitats. Program will begin at 9 AM and is for adults and children 12 and up. Please register. 

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny
Enjoy breakfast with the Easter Bunny this Sunday, April 13th at the West Babylon Fire Department. Breakfast will begin at 8 AM and will feature pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, OJ and more. WBAB will be available giving out giveaways and playing games and free child safety seat inspections will take place as well. 

Rockville Center Spring Festival
Head to the Rockville Center Spring Festival this weekend from 10 AM- 5 PM to check out a wide variety of handmade crafts and gift items, businesses and services and of course, delicious food! Admission and parking is free of charge!
