Ok, so here I am...back in the saddle again. And I know all of you are just DYING to know where to go, what to do. the truth is, similar to what Led Zepplin once said, "The Song Remains the Same". SO lets go for it! Now Thursday nights, people from what I hear still go out. Me, I usually go to Bennigans. Its kind of lame for such a "Wild Child" like myself, but its still fun. Good Jukebox, good food, good company. But Every once and awhile, I like to get out and cut a rug. And thats why Lilly Flannigan's in Islip (on Maint Street) is the best bet. Sure, you're packed in their like a bunch of sardines but its got dancing, dancing, and more dancing. Plus its Ladies night. Which means Men know and are there too. Also Napper Tandy's in Smithtown is good for a Thursday night. There is also Club Eclipse in Commack (just off Commack Road - across the street from the world famous Commack Motor Inn) but that is an 18 and over club, so use caution. Now as for fridays, Palmer's (as I mentioned last week) is still the place i'd prefer to rock it. However I did forget to Mention Brennan's in Hauppauge which is just as good entertainment wise. Plus the place gets pretty packed out. Also Mulcahey's has a pretty decent Happy Hour with live entertainment. This Friday Big Shot (the Billy Joel tribute band) is playing at Port Jazz. Now this is great because as I also mentioned last week, Port jeff offers a variety of bars all within a short distance of each other. So when Big Shot is over, you can bring the party somewhere else! This Saturday however I am going to plug my new Favorite band on the Island at my new favorite bar on the Island. Ants Marching (www.antsmarching1.com) is a Dave Matthews Band tribute band. and quite good. And since I love DMB I have become an avid fan of this band. They make me feel like i'm at a show, but I didn't have to spend the money on a ticket! They are playing at Kilty Larkin's (www.kiltylarkins.com) and go on at 11:30 pm. If you don't want to go out that late, Ants is also playing at the Patchouge Theater (www.patchoguetheater.com) with several other "tribute" bands - Steelin Dan (Steely Dan), Strawberry Feilds (The Beatles), Sticky Fingers (The Rolling Stones) and More. For Tickets and information check the website or call: 631-435-8822 Its an All ages show, so anyone can go. Now as for Town of the Week, I haven't had 1 suggestion....not one. And its a little discouraging. I mean, does no one read all of my hardwork? So Town of the Week this week anyways, is a no-go. I do however want to mention that next Saturday, April 12th, there will be a pub crawl in NYC in the Village. Basically you pay $15 and you get to walk around to a bunch of bars and drink til you can drink no more. But if you bring 2 cans of food its only $13 - see what being a good person and helping others gets you? Wasted for less! So thats all for now.
