BAY SHORE, NY - March 31, 2011 - New York State Senators Lee Zeldin and Owen Johnson recently joined Family Service League president and CEO Karen Boorshtein on a tour of FSL's Iovino South Shore Family Center in Bay Shore. The senators got to see firsthand many of FSL's services available to families in the towns of Islip and Babylon, which include a highly successful pre-school education program, behavioral health services, parent support and advocacy, senior services, family literacy, employment and technology training and youth services including Operation Success, a homework help initiative. "We are pleased that Senators Zeldin and Johnson were able to take time out of their busy schedules to come see all the positive things we are doing to address the needs of the community," said Ms. Boorshtein. "It was also a great opportunity for the legislators to learn about the resources we offer so that they may act as a referral point for their constituents who may be in need of assistance."
