Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Huntington, NY

Written by Long Island  |  28. March 2025

Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its Huntington, NY bookstore on Wednesday, April 2nd. The new Barnes & Noble is located across from Huntington Shopping Center (301 Walt Whitman Rd., Huntington Station, NY11746), in the space formerly occupied by Johnson Fitness & Wellness.

The new Barnes & Noble will officially open at 9AM EST on Wednesday the 2
nd, with bestselling author Tessa Bailey cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her books, including the Bellinger Sisters series and her latest release, Dream Girl Drama.

The bookstore showcases the highly lauded design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller. The bookstore will also house an updated B&N Café.

“While we were saddened to leave East Northport, we could not be happier with the space we have found in Huntington,” said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. “Here we bring the community a completely updated Barnes & Noble and, fittingly, do so right next to the birthplace of one of the greatest American poets.”

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 60 new bookstores in 2025.

The Huntington location is one of four new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in April, alongside new stores in Florida, Illinois, and Nebraska. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.

“We are so excited to bring Barnes and Noble back to the community of Huntington and surrounding areas,” said Store Manager Kyle Goehle, Barnes & Noble Bookseller of five years. “I can’t wait for all the new memories our customers will make with our brand-new bookstore and café!”
