Planning a wedding isn’t easy; it involves many difficult decisions that you could labor over for years if you wanted to. The first question that usually pops into a newly engaged couple’s heads is, where should we have the wedding? Long Island is known for its variety of beaches, parks, estates, and other sites that are the perfect setting for a wedding. From having your wedding on the beach to one of the beautiful mansions on the Gold Coast, there is no shortage of beautiful wedding venues.

So what should you do first when looking for a venue? The best thing to do would be to make a list of what you’re looking for in your site. Do you want a beach wedding? Have you always dreamed of getting married in a garden? Write it all down on a yellow legal pad, or if you’re feeling crafty, make a vision board. Find pictures that match what you always imagined your wedding looking like a stick them all on a piece of poster board. When you have the vision in front of you it’ll be much easier to narrow down your options.

If you’re looking to get married in one of Long Island’s beautiful mansions, then start with a simple web search or look right here on Longisland.com! There are a number of venues that Long Island women have named as the best venues such as Oheka Castle or Lessing’s Waterfront Mansions. The North Shore is littered with beautiful estates that you can tour and look at. Most of these places require you to take a tour in order to get pricing, so make sure a day to look at all your options!

Long Island is also not lacking in beaches and parks. There are over 60 parks on the Island that you can choose from. To start narrowing down which parks you like the most, browse our parks page to see which parks might have something you’re interested in. The same goes for beaches, although some beaches are private so you might have to go through whatever country club owns that stretch of beach. Going through a country club with beach property can also give you the best of both worlds, an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception!

The most important part of picking your wedding venue is that it’s the place of your dreams. You can even take your vision board with you when your tour venues to let them know exactly what you want and if they can give it to you. Long Island offers the best of everything when it comes to weddings, including the beauty of home.
