The Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center announced that registration is open for Rumpelstiltskin, its second camp of the new "School Vacation Adventures Theatre Camps" series, part of the Nancy and Frederick DeMatteis Arts Education Program for Children. The WHBPAC saw tremendous success among families & children with its first "School Vacation Adventures Theatre Camp" production of Cinderella. Now youngsters will have the opportunity to participate in its second camp, Rumpelstiltskin, during the April 21-25 break. Children will arrive on Monday to be cast in their roles and by Friday night they will be performance ready. The camp is designed to help young people develop life skills through participation in the performing arts. School Vacation Adventures Camps are a brand new way to turn spring break into a fun and educational experience. Come April, the children will learn the tricks that the impish little gnome, "Rumpelstiltskin," performs to spin straw into gold. Retold as a rollicking musical, this original adaptation promises to charm and delight a whole new generation of children. During this fun-filled week, when Campers are not rehearsing, they'll be enjoying lots of other exciting activities with our Teaching Artists, including daily classes in acting, improvisation, singing, movement, theatre games, the ever-popular "Talent Show" and more! There are still spaces available in the Rumpelstiltskin School Vacation Adventure Camp. So, treat a youngster to an exciting week of creative adventures. School Vacation Adventure Theatre tuition is $325. The camps have roles for school-aged children from Kindergarten to 12th Grade. Space is limited to 60 students, so be sure to sign up early.
