Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, the New York Islanders organization, and Nassau Coliseum management today announced the building’s reopening to Islanders season ticket members starting on March 18th, as permitted by state guidelines. Attendance will be limited to 10% of capacity, and all required safety protocols will be followed.

On March 11th, 1,000 Northwell Health frontline staff will be guests of the Islanders, to thank them for their heroic efforts this past year. Season ticket members will have priority for all Islanders home games this season. For information about season tickets, fans can call 888-NY-ISLES. County Executive Curran and the Islanders organization thank Nassau Live Center at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum management and the many others working hard so that Islanders fans can attend games in the last season at the Coliseum.

“I’m thrilled that Islanders fans will be able to rock the Barn next month. This is a big step towards our safe return to normal, and the reopening of the Coliseum means so much for Nassau. We know virus risk is dramatically reduced with precautions in place and rules being followed. I’m confident that we’re ready to do this safely and smoothly, and hope we can soon further increase the number of fans in the stands,” said Nassau County Executive Laura Curran.

We look forward to working closely with Islanders management to achieve our shared goal of providing a safe and healthy environment that allows Islanders’ fans to cheer their team onto victory. Earlier this month, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced that, building off of the successful Buffalo Bills pilot program, sports and entertainment events in major stadiums and arenas with a capacity of 10,000 or more people can re-open with limited spectators. More information available here.
