Suspect Wanted for Pool Game Stabbing

Suffolk County Police are on the lookout for a man who stabbed another man during a pool game in November 2011. The suspect in question, Ludwin Pereira, 32, reportedly walked into a convenience store in Wyandanch just after 1pm on November 5th and headed to the back of the store where several man were playing a game of pool. Pereira took one man aside and after a few minutes of conversation Pereira allegedly pulled a knife from under his sweatshirt and stabbed the other man in the torso. The victim was seriously wounded. The suspect, Pereira, fled the scene on foot and is considered by authorities to be very dangerous. Ludwin Pereira is also known as “Luis” or Ludwin Reyes, with his last known address located in Wyandanch.  Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Former LI Man Executed in Fla. After More Than 30 Years on Death Row

Robert Waterhouse, formerly of Greenport, was pronounced dead at Florida State Prison at 8:22am on Wednesday after receiving a lethal injection procedure mandated by Florida Gov. Rick Scott. Waterhouse,  65 at the time of his death, was sentenced to life in prison in 1967 after he raped and murdered 77-year-old Greenport resident Ella Carter in 1966. While out on parole in 1980, Waterhouse raped and killed Deborah Kammerer in St. Petersburg, Fla. Waterhouse was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to death. A stay of execution was issued just four days before his scheduled execution in 1985 and a judge order that he be resentenced in 1988 due to mitigating evidence that his rights were violated during his sentencing for the 1967 conviction. However, through a unanimous jury vote Waterhouse was once again sentenced to death in 1990. Waterhouse is the 7nd inmate to have been put to death in Florida since the reinstitution of executions in 1979 and the fourth inmate to be executed in the U.S. this year.

Video of Credit Card Thief Suspect Released

Police have released surveillance video of a man they suspect of breaking into a woman’s car and stealing a tote bag containing her wallet and several credit cards. The suspect allegedly smashed the car’s window outside of a Lucille Roberts located on Jericho Turnpike in Commack back in October 2011 and has since used the stolen credit cards to make two purchases at two gas stations in Brentwood. The man is described as 5’10” and 180 pounds. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-220-TIPS.

Riverhead Mom Drives While Intoxicated with Tot in Car

Ranisha Pendleton was under the influence of alcohol when police pulled her over at 7:30am this morning for swerving on Old Country Road. Her 1-year-old child was in the back seat of her vehicle.  Pendleton was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a minor, a felony under Leandra’s law.
