Lawrence Man Accused of Firing Crossbow at Woman in Shocking Attempted Murder Case

A Lawrence man is under arrest after allegedly firing a crossbow at a woman, grazing her face in what police say was an attempted murder.

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Lawrence man for Attempted Murder that occurred on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 9:23 PM in Lawrence.
 
According to detectives, officers responded to a West Avenue residence for an aided case. Upon arrival, officers located a 28-year-old female bleeding from a laceration on the right side of her face. She was transported by a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
 
Subsequent to a thorough investigation at the scene, it was determined that defendant Samy Sedhom, 21, shot an arrow from a crossbow towards the victim which grazed her face. He was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Defendant Sedhom is being charged with Attempted Murder 2nd, Assault 1st, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th,  tampering with Physical Evidence and Stalking 1st.
 
He is being arraigned on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
