The Arson Bomb Squad reports the details of a Fire that occurred on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at approximately 12:30 AM in Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, the Hempstead Fire Department responded with several neighboring fire departments to Oak Avenue for a house fire. The home sustained significant damage and the fire caused moderate damage to two neighboring homes. The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the Arson Bomb Squad responded to the scene. The Red Cross responded to provide assistance to numerous displaced residents. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
