Hempstead, NY - February 12, 2019 - Fifteen William Floyd High School Business Academy students and members of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) recently took home 18 awards at the regional FBLA competition recently held at Hofstra University. Ten of these students have qualified to compete in the state competition in upstate Binghamton in April.
 
The 10 students qualifying for the state competition are Summer Stubbmann, 1st place, Global Business and 3rd place, Hospitality; Jenny Le, 1st place, Client Services; Jayden Fritz-Berrios, 2nd place, Business Law; Jose Ortez, 2nd place, Introduction to Financial Math; Janie Juarez, 2nd place, Banking & Financial Systems; Ryan Butler Gilbreath, 2nd place, Word Processing; Laidy Quito, 3rd place, Introduction to Business; Maria Patino, 3rd place, Accounting I; Jhoana Sinchi, 3rd place, Accounting II; and Vincent Bryers, 3rd place, Introduction to Public Speaking.
 
Also taking home awards were Dario Molina, 4th place, Accounting II; Sergei Rogers, 4th place, Basic Decision Making; Kayla Scharf, 4th place, Business Calculations; Matt Delgado, 4th place, Entrepreneurship; David Maceroni, 4th place, Impromptu Speaking; Jhoana Sinchi, 4th place, Job Interview; and Jayden Fitz-Berrios, 5th place, Public Speaking II.
