Fake Cop With Badge Allegedly Threatened Two Men in Lawrence—Queens Man Arrested After Pointing Gun-Like Weapon

A Queens man was arrested in Lawrence after allegedly impersonating law enforcement and threatening two men with a gun-like weapon.

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for an incident that occurred on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 4:27 PM in Lawrence.
 
According to detectives, officers responded to a disturbance on Beach 2nd Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that two male victims, ages 39 and 52, were approached by a male accusing them of breaking his car window.
 
The male falsely identified himself as law enforcement, had a badge hanging around his neck, and pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the victims. Subsequent to an investigation, the Defendant Wilfredo Roldos, 62, was arrested at the scene without incident.
 
A Byrna HD pepper ball gun was recovered at the scene.
 
Defendant Wilfredo Roldos is charged with Criminal Impersonation 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Menacing 2nd Degree.
 
He will be arraigned on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
