Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a woman in Hauppauge.
A handicapped accessible 2020 Toyota Sienna minivan with no front passenger seat or center console, was traveling eastbound on Veterans Memorial Highway in the right lane when the driver, Judith Weisman stopped the vehicle suddenly. Marybeth Weisman, was sitting in the rear of the vehicle, unrestrained, lunged forward, and struck her head on the dashboard of the vehicle, rendering her unconscious.
Judith Weisman then turned right onto Raoul Wallenberg Drive in an attempt to pull over, and
sideswiped a southbound 2008 Honda Accord, being driven by Tiphanna Olivia-Jimenez, at
approximately 3:35 p.m.
Both vehicles came to a stop in the left lane, and both drivers performed CPR on Marybeth Weisman until first responders arrived and restored her pulse. She was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital by the Central Islip-Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance Corp. in serious condition
.
Judith Weisman, 75, of Smithtown, and Olivia-Jimenez, 29, of Farmingdale were not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.
