Polar is a staff favorite at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, surrendered in 2014 when her owner lost their home.  Polar’s got it all: she’s loving, sweet, playful, and an absolute joy to be around.  Polar is deaf, but that doesn’t stop her from being awesome because she understands hand signals- aka doggy sign language.  Polar would be a great addition to any family, and can have a pooch sibling if she is given time to adjust. Because Polar is deaf, she often sleeps in her crate and does not interact with potential adopters that walk through the shelter. Polar is scared and sad in the shelter and needs a loving home of her own more than anything so please head down to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter today (or call 516-785-5220) and ask for her by name. You won’t be disappointed.
