LI's Adorable Adoptables: Meet Sammy, Riley & Leonardo!

Written by Allison Matos  |  29. January 2016

LI's Adorable Adoptables is a weekly column by Allison Matos, a lifelong Long Island resident who has been advocating animal adoption since 2012. Allison's weekly posts highlight local animals in need of adoption, and cover general animal welfare topics as well.

Sammy is so stinkin' adorable, it's hard to understand how someone could leave him alone tied to a fence.  Thankfully Sammy was rescued and brought to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter. This 2 year old pup is too cute, weighing only 45 pounds. He is super friendly and happy to meet new people. His love for toys can get him a bit excited during play, so his new adopter will need to know how to calm him down. Sammy displayed zero issues with people near his food, and best part: he is playful with other dogs!!!  Sammy is a TOH shelter favorite, and would make a wonderful addition to any family. Please call for more information: 516-785-5220 or visit him at: 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh NY 11793.

Riley

Just next door at Last Hope Animal Rescue is the cutest little orange and white male Chihuahua mix named Riley. Riley comes from a Kentucky shelter and is described as a real sweatheart, although this little guy is scared in a kennel situation. Riley needs the TLC of a loving family and a home of his own so he can thrive as he should. Please contact  Last Hope for more information about adopting Riley.

Leonardo

Ready for a cuteness overload? Awesome, playful, affectionate and a total love bug describes the adorable Mr. Leonardo.  Leonardo was born in July 2015 and rescued with his 2 sisters, placed into foster care and now is waiting to find his forever home. Come meet this purrfect kitten and make him a part of your family. For more information, check out Leonardo's webpage.
