A huge fire erupted yesterday at JFK Airport in New York City as smoke billows above Terminal 8.
A spokesperson for the airport confirmed a tow truck belonging to American Airlines had caught fire and was extinguished by crews from the Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting team.
Statement from JFK Airport
A spokesperson for the airport said: "At approximately 7:25 a.m. this morning at Terminal 8 (airside) JFK Airport, a report was received of an American Airlines tow truck on fire.
"The fire was extinguished by the Port Authority’s Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting team. There were no reported injuries and no impact to airport operations. Please contact American Airlines for more information."
