Police Arrest 3 West Babylon Adults in Smith Haven Mall Robbery That Left Teen Employee Punched, Kids Present

Suffolk County Police this week arrested three people after they robbed a Lake Grove store on January 13.
 
Three adults with two small children entered EPIC Outfitters, located in the Smith Haven Mall, removed assorted clothing and left the store without paying on January 13 at 6:48 p.m. While exiting the store a 17-year-old employee confronted the suspects and was struck multiple times in the face. The subjects then fled the mall in a vehicle, and the employee was treated on scene and refused further medical attention.
 
Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, First Precinct Patrol officers observed two of the suspects driving a 2015 Chrysler on Oregon Road in West Babylon on January 14 and conducted a traffic stop. Nyrell Hernandez and Sheyanna Bussi were taken into custody and taken to the Fourth Precinct. The children who were present during the robbery were also in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. They were released into the custody of family.
 
First Precinct Patrol officers arrested the remaining suspect, Kyndrell Adams, at First District Court in Central Islip on January 20.
 
Hernandez, 26, Bussi, 23, and Adams, 21, all of West Babylon, were all charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, a class C Felony, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a
misdemeanor.
 
Hernandez and Bussi were arraigned on January 15 at First District Court in Central Islip. Adams will be held at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on January 21.
