Levittown Man Accused of Violent Walmart Robbery in East Meadow, Shoving Employee and Battling Police During Arrest

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Levittown man for a Robbery that occurred on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 3:00 pm in East Meadow.
 
According to Detectives, Defendant Christopher Jennings, 53, entered Walmart located at 2465 Hempstead Turnpike and proceeded to cut security tags and concealed assorted merchandise in a reusable shopping bag. The defendant then proceeded to pass all points of purchase and exit the store without rendering payment.
 
Loss Prevention officers confronted Jennings who then shoved the employee before fleeing scene.
 
Subsequent to the investigation, responding officers located the defendant and when officers attempted to place him into custody, he became violent and combative while resisting arrest. No injuries were reported.
 
Defendant Christopher Jennings is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest. He will be arraigned on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
