Super Fun Super Bowl Snacks

This year, impress your guests with Super Bowl snacks that are not only delicious, but homemade!  Be sure to stock up on your favorite chips, cheeses, and crescent rolls - you'll see from these recipes that they are quite versatile, and can be used in numerous combinations to give life to your favorite treats and dips. Also, do not forget the drinks, and have a variety ready for the drinkers and non-drinkers at your house. Pre-heat your oven, and get your game on!

Pepperoni Roll-Ups


  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • About 40 slices of pepperoni
  • 4 pieces of mozzarella string cheese, cut in half
  • Garlic powder
  • Pizza sauce

Directions: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, then open the crescent rolls and being unrolling them and separate into 8 triangles. Place 5 pieces of pepperoni on top of each crescent roll, then put half of a string cheese stick on top of each triangle and roll it all up.  For more flavor, sprinkle garlic powder on top of each roll-up.  Put rolls on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve with warm pizza sauce.

Jalapeno Poppers


  • 1 8 oz block of cream cheese
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1/4 cup minced jalapenos

Directions: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and grease a cookie sheet or cover it with foil. Combine jalapenos and cream cheese together in a small bowl and set aside.  Open the crescent roll can and separate the rolls long-ways along the perforation so that you have 2 sheets of crescent rolls with 4 rolls in each sheet. Pinch the perforations together on each of the two sheets so that you form two continuous crescent roll sheets. Divide the cream cheese mixture into equal halves, and spread evenly over both crescent roll sheets. Roll each up from the short end to make a2 long cream cheese rolls, then cut each roll into 12-16 pieces.  Place each one on your cookie sheet and bake for 11-13 minutes. Serve warm.

Cheesy Potato Slices


  • 1 large russet potato, washed and cut into 1/8 inch rounds
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 2 cups shredded jack cheese
  • 6 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped into crumbled bits
  • Salt

Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees and lay out potato slices on a paper towel-lined surface.   Make sure the slices are dry by patting them with another paper towel.  Cover a baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.  Spread out the potato slices on the baking sheet, and spray an additional layer of cooking spray on the potatoes. Sprinkle cheese and bacon crumbles on each potato slice.  Bake for 8-10 minutes, then add a dash of salt and allow to cool for five minutes.  Serve warm.

Layered Nacho Dip


  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz light sour cream
  • 1/2 tbsp taco seasoning
  • 15.5 oz jar salsa
  • 2 cups shredded 4-cheese Mexican blend
  • Tortilla chips

Directions: Put the block of cream cheese in a bowl and mix until smooth, then add sour cream and taco seasoning and stir until well combined.  Spread the mixture evenly on the bottom of a baking dish.  Add a layer of salsa, and then a layer of shredded cheese. Chill until the cheese firms up slightly, then serve with tortilla chips.
