The Strategic Response Team (SRT) report an arrest within the confines of the Fifth Precinct on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10:15 pm.
According to Police, officers conducted an investigation targeting the sale of flavored vape products being sold at the Smoke Shop located at 774 Hempstead Turnpike. During the investigation, officers observed a large quantity of flavored vape products and assorted Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) products displayed for sale.
As a result of the investigation, Defendant Chaitanya Sanapathi, 46, of Garden City is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Sale of Restricted Products and Sale of Flavored Products Prohibited.
He will be arraigned on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
