Eastern Suffolk BOCES student council members, ESBOCES administrators, and guests gathered to celebrate the dedication of the Centereach Academic Center Library to Senator John J. Flanagan. Senator Flanagan has been instrumental in acquiring grant funding from the New York State Legislature supporting a variety of projects at the ESBOCES Centereach Academic Center (CAC). The new library collection includes high interest level books that are age appropriate for the students attending CAC who have experienced severe difficulties in traditional school settings due to their emotional and learning disabilities. Senator Flanagan said, "I've had the good fortune to visit the Centereach Academic Center many times over the years. I've learned these students address challenges every day. I'm glad to be a part of something that will help them achieve their goals. I'm grateful and humbled by this dedication." Rob Becker, director of Special Education, thanked Senator Flanagan and said, "None of this would have been possible without your continued support."
