The people who gave us the original "Love Boat," are still proving that there's nothing like a cruise to ignite (or reignite) the fire of romance.

Princess Cruise Lines takes a special interest in sailings for couples, and their 10-day jaunt over Valentine's Day on the Ruby Princess gives ample proof.

This year, the Ruby Princess Valentine's Cruise sets sail from Fort Lauderdale on February 8, and includes a Southern Caribbean itinerary that takes guests to the Bahamas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Bonaire and Aruba.

In addition to the luxurious quarters that the sparkling Ruby Princess is known for, there are special optional activities for couples that make a Valentine's sailing something really special for lovers. These include candlelight Champagne Dinners on a private stateroom balcony with personal wait service, a Chef's Tour and Dinner with a special menu from the ship's Executive Chef, and a separate spa and lounge area, "The Sanctuary" for couples-only. There are, of course, on-board wedding facilities, and there is even a Renewal of Vows Ceremony on Valentine's Day for already-married couples.

The Ruby Princess itself is one of the most beautiful of the genre with a dramatic Italian piazza-style atrium and upscale restaurants, such as Sabatini's and the Crown Grill, that go beyond its already high level dining experience. Its array of activities includes a large fitness center, the Lotus Spa, a popular "Movies Under the Stars" experience, two pools, a casino, and first class entertainment. Optional shore excursions are available at every stop.
