Not your typical Long Island Chinese food place, Ivory Kitchen offers patrons a cozy place to eat in as well as takeout. Reviewers are giving the food five stars across the board on Yelp and Google, while the owner - known as Jeff L on Yelp - seems to be personally responding to every post.

Entrees include stir-fried shanghai noodles ($14.95), Yunnan rice cakes ($$16.95), Singapore chow mai fun - fried rice noodles ($16.95), and pineapple fried rice with chicken, beef, pork, shrimp or vegetable ($14.95). Their special private kitchen offerings include spice crab hot pot ($36.95) and a Yunnan style barbeque fish ($22.95).

On Yelp, Ava A, from Port Washington, gave Ivory Kitchen five stars and couldn’t wait to post her review.

“I'm writing this while still eating,” she said. “Ordered from here impulsively and was completely pleasantly surprised. I got the steamed dumplings and Szechuan Noodle Soup (quite spicy but I love that) and both are phenomenal. The soup is SO flavorful and both items arrived piping hot. I am having a great time.”

Hope M, from Kew Gardens, Queens agreed.

“Excellent variety of choices,” she wrote. “The food is very different than any other restaurants in town and is definitely a welcomed breath of fresh air.”
