Long Island Leasing Update

Written by autoleasing  |  01. January 2000

Great news for a select group of Ford Motor Co. lease customers! Ford Credit has released the Super Early Bird Lease Termination Program for a specific crossection of sport ulitity lease customers. You must of however have a Red Carpet Lease (RCL). In a nutshell, Ford Credit will waive up to 10 remaining lease payments on selected Explorers, Mountaineers & Expeditions if you lease any of these new 2000 SUVs, Mountaineer, Explorer 4DR, Excursion, Expedition or the brand new 2001 Sport Trac. (Sport Trac looks like a 4DR Explorer with a short pick-up bed. very interesting look) You must be invited to take advantage of this program so don't toss any junk mail for a while and if you have changed addresses check with your originating dealer. ON THE OTHER HAND Chrysler Credit Corp., operating from a completely different vantage point has chosen to almost abandon leasing on SUVs as of June 1st, relying almost completly on .9% financing (up to 36 months) to move their car line. Chrysler P/T Cruiser, a cool 1930s sedan look-alike is still out of reach and no more orderswill be taken as Chrysler is overwhelmed by 260,000 orders already placed. The expected response was 80,000 units. Rumor control has it that production and ordering will resume in August with a two to five month wait for delivery. As always I welcome your questions, concerns & feedback . Please feel free to e-mail me at autoleasing@longisland.com
