CREATIVE WAYS TO GET YOUR CHILDREN TO WRITE (2)

Written by childwriting  |  01. January 2000

WELCOME TO THE CREATIVE WRITING AREA Here you will find exciting, fun and creative ways to encourage your children to write. Educators and editors that have been in the writing field for many years created these excerises. So, enjoy and have fun. Create a recognition place in your home. The place will have to be visible to all that enter. A small place on the wall would be fine. Call this place THE WRITING WALL OF FAME. Create a small celebration for you and your child for the opening day. Make a banner and place on that area of the wall. Then celebrate with sparkling apple cider at the opening. Dedicate this place to your child and all his or her writings. Inform all your family and friends what you are doing and instruct them to read the writings on the wall when they come for a visit. Tell your children that people will be able to read what they wrote, and new writings must be up there once a week. (cause no one likes to read the same things over and over) No more than 3 writings should be displayed. Make the place look special, decorate and be as creative as you feel you need to get your child to post their writings there. By doing this, it gives your child a feeling of accomplishment, and most children respond extremely well to this recognition for their efforts. You could even take this a step further. You can have Blue, Red and yellow award ribbons, first, second and third place. Have the people that enter your home place the ribbons as to what they liked best. This is fun for children. Notice how many times the ribbons get changed from different people. This will keep your child going back to the wall to see where the ribbons are when someone comes for a visit. This will also encourage to write 3 times a week. CREATIVE WAYS TO GET YOUR CHILD TO WRITE (1) HAS BEEN ARCHIEVED Please give us feedback and suggestions. If you know of other fun writing activities that worked for you, let us know. They will be posted. Please check back often, this area will be updated.
