Farmingdale Mother Arrested for DWI with 8 Year Old Son in Car

The Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Farmingdale woman for Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 6:45 A.M. in Roosevelt.

Roosevelt, NY - December 29th, 2014 - The Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Farmingdale woman for Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 6:45 A.M. in Roosevelt.

According to officers, the defendant Sheri Hinds, 28 of Laurelton Street was southbound on the Meadowbrook Parkway in a Nissan sedan when she was observed speeding by Seventh Precinct Officers. The officers conducted a traffic stop at which time they determined Hinds was intoxicated and placed her under arrest. Also in the vehicle at the time of arrest was the defendant’s 8 year old son.  The child was removed from scene by the father.

Sheri Hinds is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law), Driving While Intoxicated (+.08 BAC), Driving While Intoxicated, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Vehicle and Traffic Law infractions.  She will be arraigned on Monday, December 29, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
