A suspect has been arrested in connection to the robbery of a nail salon.

Update - May 14, 2014 - The Robbery Squad reports the arrest of Salvatore Scimeca, 55, of 255 Islip Boulevard for the below listed robbery of Nail Fetish. Scimeca is being charged with 5 counts of Robbery 1st degree. He was arraigned on May 9, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
 
Original Release - Valley Stream, NY - December 27, 2013 - The Robbery Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 8:05 PM in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, a male white subject, 40-50 years of age, 5’3” to 5’6” tall, wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, and a black mask entered Nail Fetish located at 2 Rockaway Avenue, displayed a handgun and demanded money. After obtaining an undetermined amount of US currency the subject fled the scene on foot north east towards the CVS parking lot on East Merrick Road.  There were no injuries.

Jericho, NY - December 28, 2013 - The Robbery Squad is investigating a bank Robbery that occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 9:42 AM in Jericho.
 
According to detectives, two unknown male subjects, entered Citibank located at 1 Robbins Lane and verbally announced a robbery. The subjects exited the bank in an unknown direction after taking an undetermined amount of US currency. The subjects are described as male blacks, 20 years of age, wearing dark clothing, masks and gloves. There were 5 employees and 1 customer present at the time of the robbery.

Valley Stream, NY - December 28, 2013 - The Robbery Squad is investigating a bank Robbery that occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:45 AM in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, an unknown subject entered the Dime Savings Bank, 175 West Merrick Road and passed a teller a demand note.  The teller stated that she did not have any money and the subject fled the scene on foot northbound on Fletcher Avenue. There were no proceeds.  The subject is described as a male black, in his thirties, 6 foot, wearing a Baltimore Orioles baseball cap, a black jacket with wide orange and white stripes, acid washed blue jeans and white sneakers.  There were 7 employees and 1 customer present at the time of the robbery.

Garden City, NY - December 28, 2013 - The Robbery Squad is investigating a bank Robbery that occurred on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 12:32 PM in Garden City.
 
According to detectives, an unknown male subject entered the Citibank located at 1050 Franklin Avenue and passed a teller a demand note. The teller complied and the subject fled the scene on foot through a rear door, northbound in the parking lot. Proceeds were an undetermined amount of US currency.  The subject is described as a male black, in his thirties, wearing a Baltimore Orioles baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, acid washed blue jeans and white sneakers. There were 5 employees and 1 customer present at the time of the robbery.
