Inwood Man Arrested on Christmas Eve After Firing Multiple Shots in the Air

Inwood, NY - December 26, 2016 - Fourth Squad detectives report the arrest of an Inwood man for an incident that occurred on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 9:08 pm in Inwood.

According to detectives, Otis Williams, 40, Inwood, after becoming involved in a verbal argument with his girlfriend, stepped outside the residence with a handgun and fired multiple shots into the air.

Police were dispatched to the scene and a  subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Williams as well as the recovery of a FEG PMK .380 handgun. No injuries were reported.

Williams is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, two (2) counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Prohibited Use of a Dangerous Weapon. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 12/25/2016.
