LI's Adorable Adoptables is a weekly column by Allison Matos, a lifelong Long Island resident who has been advocating animal adoption since 2012. Allison's weekly posts highlight local animals in need of adoption, and cover general animal welfare topics as well.

A staff favorite at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter, there are so many great things to say about Pretty.  Pretty is our amazingly adorable, 3 1/2 year old girl who came to the shelter as a stray in May of 2015.  Confusingly enough, Pretty's been at the shelter so long that she is now their SIXTH longest resident.  The staff can't understand what the hold-up in finding her forever home is because according to them, Pretty is literally amazing!

Pretty is very loving, she LOVES to be carried (adorable) and loves to give kisses! If that's not enough, Pretty is house trained, crate trained, walks great on leash and she loves all people! Pretty also really likes to be around kids, and likes other dogs. Are you sold yet??

Pretty is such a good girl, and she is SO deserving of a home! She has been waiting way too long, so please lets get her into her forever home ASAP! Please call for more information: 516-785-5220 or come her at 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh NY 11793.

As always, thanks for reading. This holiday season, please remember that pets are a lifetime commitment, not just a gift for under the tree.  And if you are able to commit, please adopt from a local shelter or rescue, never shop...pass it on!
