Man Arrested in Levittown Shortly After Attempted Burglary

A Levittown man was arrested after taking a large envelope the front porch of house.

Levittown, NY - December 17, 2013 - Second Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for attempted burglary and petit larceny that occurred in Levittown on Monday, 12/16/13 at 2:50 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Nitin Malhotra, 21, of 47 Miller Pl., Levittown, went to a residence on Elm Dr., took a large envelope that was on the porch area, and put it into his back pack.  The defendant then proceeded to the rear of the home, broke the screen to a window and fled the scene.  A witness then called the police.  Second Precinct Police officers located the defendant on Miller Place, with the proceeds, where he was placed under arrest.
 
Malhotra is being charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree, Petit Larceny and will be arraigned on Tuesday, 12/17/13 in First District Court, Hempstead.
