Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a Port Jefferson Station man last night.

Port Jefferson Station, NY - December 12th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a Port Jefferson Station man last night.

Macario Jimenez, 58, was crossing the street on Route 25A when he was struck by a 1999 Honda Civic that was traveling southbound on Route 25A at 9:02 p.m.

Jimenez, of Clifton Place, was transported via Port Jefferson Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in serious condition. The driver of the Honda, Joseph Mauro, 49, of West Islip, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sixth Squad detectives at 631-854-8652. All calls will be kept confidential.
