Old Brookville Man Arrested for Manhasset Assault

Manhasset, NY - December 8th 2014 - The Third Squad reports the arrest of an Old Brookville man for Assault that occurred on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 10:45 p.m. in Manhasset.

According to detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to Green’s Pub located at 436 Plandome Road for a disturbance. Upon their arrival the defendant Frank Filippelli, 31 of  Chicken Valley Road ran from the scene on foot. The defendant was then observed a few minutes later screaming as he ran across the street. The officers followed Filippelli into an alleyway where they attempted speak to the defendant. Filippelli again began to run away and slammed an officer into his patrol car.

The officers continued to struggle with Filippelli at which time he began to punch an officer in the face and attempted to bite them. The officers were able to get control of the defendant and place him under arrest. One officer was treated at a local hospital for injuries to his face and knee he sustained during the struggle.

Filippelli is charged with Assault 2nd degree and Obstructing Governmental Administration. He will be arraigned on Monday, December 08, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
