Three Arrested for Armed Robbery of Hempstead Gas Station

Hempstead, NY - December 5th, 2013 - The Robbery Squad, 1st Squad,  3rd Squad, and Hempstead Police Department report the details of the arrests of three men for Robbery that occurred on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 9:40 pm.
 
According to detectives, the Hempstead Police responded to a Robbery at the Citgo Station located at 711 Fulton Avenue by two male black subjects, one armed with a black revolver. The subjects were observed fleeing the Robbery in a U haul van. Hempstead Police located and stopped the van a short time later on Washington Avenue and Nichols Court where two subjects, the driver, a female, Danyell Greene, 37, of 64 West Clinton Street, Roosevelt and a male John Hayes, 40, of 180-10 157th Street, Queens were placed into police custody. A second male subject fled from the van and was carrying a black handgun. Hempstead Police located the subject in the parking lot of 150 Washington Avenue and placed Prince Robinson, 28, of 107-48 160 the Street Queens into police custody without incident. There were no injuries reported.
 
After further investigation, detectives from the Robbery Squad, 1st Squad, and the 3rd Squad were able to connect Robinson and Hayes to an earlier Attempted Robbery at 8:19 pm at the Dearborn Deli located at 241 Nassau Road.
 
John Hayes and Prince Robinson are both charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd and 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. Danyell Greene is charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2ND and 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. All three will arraigned on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
