Mangano Announces Candlelight Evenings At Old Bethpage Village Restoration

Old Bethpage, NY - December 3, 2014 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced that Candlelight Evenings at Old Bethpage Village Restoration will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 20th and 21st and Friday, December 26th – Tuesday, December 30th from 5:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

“Candlelight Evenings transform the rustic landscape of Old Bethpage Village Restoration into a magical appearance with the Village’s historic homes illuminated by candles and holiday decorations,” said County Executive Mangano. “Visitors can enjoy traditional 19th Century entertainment including a brass quartet and fiddlers playing popular seasonal tunes, contra-dancing, performers from local schools and organizations, as well as a traditional 1866 decorated Christmas Tree, stories of Christmases past, and a traditional bonfire.”

Old Bethpage Village Restoration provides visitors with a unique and wonderful opportunity to step back in time and experience life in a recreated mid-19th Century American village set on more than 200 acres. Hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Entrance fees are: $10 for adults, $7 for children (5 – 12), seniors and volunteer firefighters. Children under 5 are free.
