Person Killed in Wyandanch Fire Over Thanksgiving Weekend

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a person who was found following a house fire in Wyandanch early this morning.

Preliminary investigating has determined the cause of the fire to be non-criminal. The investigation is continuing.

Wyandanch, NY - November 28, 2015 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad and Arson Section detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a person who was found following a house fire in Wyandanch early this morning.

First Precinct patrol officers responded to 119 Irving Ave. after a 911 caller reported a fire at the residence, which was boarded up, at approximately 2 a.m. Members of the Wyandanch Fire Department extinguished the fire and the body of a person was found inside the residence.

The body was transported to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the identity and cause of death.
