Crime Update: Man Found Dead in North Bay Shore, Holbrook Resident Arrested For Stealing Multiple Items in Cars

Man Found Dead in North Bay Shore
On Thanksgiving morning Suffolk County police discovered the body of a man shot to death in North Bay Shore. Third precinct officers found him at around 5:35 a.m. after a 911 caller reported seeing someone passed out in the middle of the street by his bicycle.
 
The man found dead by police was 21-year-old Bay Shore resident Naim Isiah Al-Hakeem. A physician’s assistant from the Office of Suffolk County Medical Examiners pronounced him dead of a gunshot wound later that day. Authorities still have not discovered who was behind Al-Hakeem’s shooting.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information behind the shooting to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392. You can also call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential. 
 
Holbrook Resident Arrested For Stealing Multiple Items in Cars
Police arrested a man in Stony Brook on Thursday morning for stealing from multiple cars. Paul Lewis, 20, of Holbrook, looked through four unlocked cars on Baker Drive and Barnwell Drive between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. 
 
During his theft spree, Lewis stole electronics and jewelry left inside cars. He was finally caught  when a man in the neighborhood tracked him to the home of a friend he was staying in on Barker Drive. Once authorities arrived at the home, residents turned over the stolen items to Suffolk County police. 
 
Lewis was charged with Four Counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He is due back in court for arraignment on November 29th.
