Long Island Police Departments Announce Increased Patrols Around Planned Parenthood Locations After Colorado Springs Shooting

In light of the shooting that occurred in Colorado Springs, Colorado Long Island police departments have increased patrols in the vicinity of all Planned Parenthood locations on Long Island.

There are no known threats at this time, but there is increased police patrols in the vicinity of all Planned Parenthood locations.

Long Island, NY - November 27, 2015 - In light of the shooting that occurred in Colorado Springs, Colorado Long Island police departments have increased patrols in the vicinity of all Planned Parenthood locations on Long Island.

The following advisories have been issued:

From the Suffolk County Police Department -

Suffolk County Police are announcing increased patrols around Planned Parenthood locations in the police jurisdiction following the shooting that occurred in Colorado Springs, Colorado today.

While no specific threats have been made toward Planned Parenthood locations in Suffolk County, the department will enhance patrols and remain in contact with other law enforcement agencies for the most up-to-date information regarding the potential for similar attacks.

A member of the department is available this evening to speak to members of the media regarding the department’s enhanced patrols.

From the Nassau County Police Department -

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Acting Police Commissioner Thomas C. Krumpter have announced that in light of the shooting that occurred in Colorado Springs, Colorado the Nassau County Police have increased patrols in the vicinity of all Planned Parenthood locations throughout the county.

Although there is no known threat at this time all patrols will be on heightened alert.

The public is reminded if they see any suspicious activity to contact 911 immediately.
