Trio Arrested for Conspiring to Rob Mineola Man

Mineola, NY - November 18th, 2014 - Third Squad detectives report the details of three arrests for a robbery that occurred in Mineola on Monday, 11/17/14 at 2:58 P.M.

According to detectives, Arlene Morel, 22, of Danbury St., Bay Shore, knocked on the door of a male victim, 41, (known to her) at a residence on Lincoln Ave.  When the victim, 41, answered, Malik Taylor, 21, of Shirley Lane, Medford; Mark Coleman, 22,of Abinet Ct., Selden, along with Morel, rushed in and proceeded to punch and kick the victim about the face and torso.  The defendants then took the victims safe and fled in their vehicle.  Upon receiving a radio notification, the Third Precinct Enforcement detail located the defendants black Audi driving northbound on Willis Ave. toward Jericho Tpke. 

Third Precinct police officers followed the vehicle onto the Long Island Expressway,  where it exited on Route 106/107 and collided with a livery cab on  northbound Route 106/107 at intersection with  the L.I.E.  South Service Rd.  At this time, the Audi was disabled and the defendants were placed under arrest.

The victim, who suffered swelling about the face and torso, refused medical attention at the scene.  No other injuries were reported.

All three defendants are each being charged with Burglary 1st Degree, two counts of Robbery 2nd Degree, Grand Larceny 2nd Degree, and Conspiracy 4th Degree.  Coleman is additionally being charged with Violation of Parole.  Taylor is additionally being charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Reckless Endangerment, and multiple Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. 

The defendants will be arraigned on Tuesday, 11/18/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
