Mastic Man Seriously Injured in Hit and Run

Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a Mastic man Sunday morning.

Mastic, NY - November 18, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a Mastic man Sunday morning.

Troy Castro, 26, was struck by an unknown vehicle while walking on Wood Avenue in Mastic at approximately 2 a.m.  Castro, of Woods Avenue, Mastic, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue and then transferred to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was in serious condition.

Detectives believe the vehicle that struck Castro may be a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion.
