"Heat Advisory" ...Heat advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EDT this evening... * heat index values...in the mid 90s. * Timing...this afternoon into early this evening. * Impacts...the heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure. Extreme heat can cause illness and death among the at-risk population who can not stay cool. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Freeport, NY - November 14, 2016 - On November 30, 2016 the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. will be unveiling its new website at its November 30, 2016 General Membership Meeting which will be held at the Freeport Memorial Library located at 144 W. Merrick Road,  2nd Floor Freeport, New York.  The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm.  Attendees will have ample time to network with small business owners and professionals in attendance.

A special overview on LIAACC’S new website will be presented by LIAACC’S Technology Chair, Darren A. Wallace, President/CEO of Vanguard Technical Solutions, LLC.
