Duo Busted in Inwood for Marijuana, Guns

Inwood, NY - November 14th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of two men on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 3:52 p.m. in Inwood.

According to detectives, while on patrol on Wanser Avenue, two Bureau of Special Operations officers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop of a 2011 Nissan Altima being driven by defendant Joshua Lindsay, 25 of Whitehouse Road, Roosevelt. During the investigation the passenger, Marcell Haynes (pictured right), 19 of Clinton Avenue, Inwood was observed to be in possession of a fully loaded .38 caliber Smith and Wesson hand gun. The officers also observed a small clear bag of marijuana in the vehicle. Both defendants were placed under arrest without incident.

Lindsay is charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, along with multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. He was released on a Desk Appearance Ticket and will appear in First District Court on December 4, 2014.

Haynes is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree. He will be arraigned on Friday, November 14, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
