Delivery Truck Driver Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in North Amityville

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a delivery truck driver in North Amityville this morning.

North Amityville, NY - November 11th, 2013 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a delivery truck driver in North Amityville this morning.

Michael Buccellato, a delivery person for Newsday, was driving a box truck eastbound on Sunrise Highway near Great Neck Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the median at 3:10 a.m. Buccellato, 51, of Central Islip, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
