Pedestrian Killed in Melville Motor Vehicle Crash

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed an unidentified male pedestrian in Melville last night.

Melville, NY - November 6th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed an unidentified male pedestrian in Melville last night.

The pedestrian was crossing Broadhollow Road, south of Spagnoli Road, when he was struck by a 2010 Acura MDX that was traveling southbound on Broadhollow Road at 11:15 p.m.

The pedestrian was transported via Melville Fire Department ambulance to North Shore University Hospital at Plainview where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle, Joseph Zucchero, 28, of North Massapequa, was not injured. The Acura was impounded for a safety check.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
