The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert regarding a missing Central Islip man who is suffering from the early onset of Alzheimer’s.

Central Islip, NY - October 30th, 2013 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert regarding a missing Central Islip man who is suffering from the early onset of Alzheimer’s.
 
Murat LaFortune, 75, of 508 Nostrand Ave., was last seen on October 29, at 122-27 134th St., in South Ozone Park.  LaFortune drives a 2005 Kia Amanti with New York license plates FJS-3399. LaFortune is believed to be lost, driving in New York City, in Harlem.
 
LaFortune is described as a  black male, with brown eyes and grey hair. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds and has a thin mustache.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
 
As a reminder, the Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have gone missing.
